Paradise: Lost & Found

A pre-Greenbelt event. This is organised by the Greenbelt festival, with talks and discussion exloring this year’s theme of losing and finding paradise. I will be one of ten speakers. My talk is entitled The Occupy movement: a signpost to paradise?

Is fighting the good fight ever good?

This will be a debate on just war and pacifism, particularly from a Christian perspective. I will be putting the case for pacifism, while Chris Pines, head of Religious Studies at St Albans’ School, will be arguing for just war. Pilgrimage for Justice

London to Canterbury

A pilgrimage organised by supporters of the Occupy movement, including many Christians as well as people of other religion and no religion. I’ll be joining at least some of the walk.

Building a Just Society
Wednesday 20 – Friday 22 June 2012
University of Kent, Canterbury

A conference at the end of the Pilgrimage for Justice, arising out of the Occupy movement and exploring issues of justice.

I will be one of the guests on Premier Christian Radio’s Sunday Breakfast programme, discussing issues in the week’s news.

LGBT Pride in London
Saturday 7 July 2012, central London

The annual demonstration for, and celebration of, the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. I will be marching with Christians Together at Pride. It is open to all people who support equality, whatever their sexuality.

I’ll be speaking about media engagement as part of the weekend conference of Quaker Action on Alcohol and Drugs (QAAD).

The UK’s annual Bisexual Convention. I’ll be there for most, and possibly all, of it.

Greenbelt

The excellent Greenbelt festival, with four days of worship, music, talks, arts and discussion. There will be hundreds of speakers and I’m privileged to be one of them. I’ll be speaking with other members of Christianity Uncut about our activism over the last year.

Debate with Stephen Green of Christian Voice

I will be debating Christian attitudes to same-sex relationships with Stephen Green, director of the extreme conservative group Christian Voice. This is a topic on which he and I have very different views. More details will be available closer to the time.
